I bring more than 25 years of scientific experience spanning academic research, biotechnology leadership, preclinical development, translational biomedical science, and strategic consulting. Through Divyani LLC, I provide high-level scientific consulting to diagnostic, biotechnology, and biological research organizations across the United States, helping clients interpret complex data, evaluate scientific opportunities, and translate multifaceted biological questions into clear, actionable strategy.
Since 2024, I have held an honorary appointment as a Visiting Scientist in the Department of Radiology at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This appointment reflects my continued engagement with leading academic research and my ongoing contributions to advanced biomedical science.
I have also held progressively senior scientific leadership roles at a Pennsylvania-based gene therapy biotechnology company. I advanced from Principal Scientist to Principal Scientist II, and ultimately served as Head and Associate Director of Discovery Biology and Pre-Clinical Research for Cell and Gene Therapy. These roles demonstrate my ability to lead complex scientific programs, guide preclinical development, and integrate discovery biology with translational strategy in a fast-moving biotechnology environment.
Prior to this, I served as a Visiting Scientist in Blood Cell and Development Function at a major cancer center in Philadelphia. Before returning to the United States, I held a tenured academic and research appointment as Assistant Professor and Senior Scientist at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Toxicology Research in Lucknow, India. My career reflects a strong record of independent scientific research, academic contribution, institutional leadership, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
Earlier in my career, I conducted extensive biomedical research at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, where I served as a Research Scientist in the Department of Neurobiology and Neurotherapeutics. This followed two postdoctoral research appointments at UT Southwestern: first in the Department of Pharmacology and the Cecil H. and Ida Green Comprehensive Center for Molecular, Computational, and Systems Biology, and later in the Eugene McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development and Department of Genetics.
Collectively, my background reflects deep and sustained expertise across pharmacology, genetics, neurobiology, molecular biology, toxicology, blood cell development, discovery biology, preclinical research, and cell and gene therapy. This breadth allows me to approach complex biomedical problems with both scientific depth and strategic clarity, making me a valuable advisor for organizations seeking rigorous, independent, and actionable scientific insight.
